CUSTOM FURNITURE DESIGN AND FABRICATION

DESIGN PROTOTYPING AND MANUFACTURING
We are currently working through the prototype designs of several of our furniture designs intended for production through our manufacturing partners.
These Yakü|Shima branded pieces will be available on our upcoming online store in late spring of 2025. Be on the lookout for our upcoming catalogue.
We are always open to collaborations on new pieces (either custom or protoype). If you are an designer, Interior Designer or Architect; we would be pleased to team with you to help produce prototypes, drawings and assist with production.
CREATIVE SPACE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN -
Workshops, Art Studios, Home Offices and Man Caves.
If you are looking to build that ultimate, fully-equipped, Norm Abrams-esque workshop, a cool Art Studio Space, Accessory Dwelling Unit or Man Cave; we can help with this too
Yakū|Shima Maker Workshop, teamed with Michael's sister company Antenora Architects (An award winning Design Firm), can help you design your space, assist with the permits and the selection of your builder, as well as consult with you during the entire design and construction process. For workshop space, we can also assist with the selection, procurement, layout and installation of your tools and equipment, including appropriate dust-collection/air filtration, electrical power, lighting and HVAC.
FURNITURE REPAIR, REFINISHING AND RESTORATION
Have a scratch in that beloved mid-century Danish modern desk, or a broken arm on Grandma's rocking chair? Send us an email with a picture. We may be able to help repair, refinish or restore it to its former glory.....or very close to it.

WOODWORKING CLASSES AND TRAINING
You've always wanted to builld a set of Adirondack Chairs with your son, daughter or grandchild, or have an idea for bench or table for your home, but don't have the tools, the space or know how to get started. Let us help. We offer customized, private and small group classes in our workshop. There you will have access to our tools and workspace. However, we can also help you set up a very modest, but functional, workshop space in your garage or basement. We will provide you with a list of essential tools, plans/instructional drawings for your piece, and hands-on, over-the-shoulder training.
